A safe, fun, and active way for Hayward students to get to school together.

What is a Bike Bus?

A Bike Bus is a group of students bicycling to school together on a set route, following a specific schedule, and chaperoned by adult "conductors."

Just like a regular school bus, the Bike Bus has specific stops and pickup times. It makes the ride to school safe, fun, and social!

Why Start/Join A Bike Bus?

• Safety in Numbers: A large group is highly visible to traffic.

• Healthy Habits: Kids arrive energized and ready to learn.

• Reduced Traffic: Fewer cars in the drop-off line means cleaner air.

New Funding

Hayward Rides: Pilot Program Launch

We are thrilled to announce that thanks to our most recent Hayward Rides funding, we are starting a Bike Bus program at a local elementary school in Hayward!

This funding allows us to provide safety vests, route planning assistance, and bicycle safety checks for all participants to ensure our kids get rolling safely.
